Een rondje op Ferrari’s testbaan (Pista di Fiorano) duurt slechts 1:21 minuten en daarmee is de 296 GTB sneller dan de F8 Tributo die een 720 pk sterke V8 heeft, maar geen elektromotor. Dankzij die elektromotor kan de 296 GTB ook eventjes elektrisch rijden, zo’n 25 kilometer.
