Chevrolet Seeker/Trax (CN/VS)

Chevrolet heeft vorige maand de Seeker geïntroduceerd, een crossover die tussen de Trailblazer en Equinox is gepositioneerd. Voorlopig is de auto alleen voor China, maar mogelijk gaat GM Korea de auto ook bouwen voor exportmarkten - naast Zuid-Korea.

The Seeker measures 4,537 mm (178.6 inches) long, 1,823 mm (71.8 inches) wide, and 1,564 mm (61.6 inches) tall with a 2,700 mm (106.3 inches) wheelbase. This makes it 130 mm (5.1 inches) longer than the Trailblazer, but 115 mm (4.5 inches) shorter than the Equinox, and 337 mm (13.3 inches) shorter than the Blazer, effectively placing it in the heart of the compact SUV segment.

Under the bonnet lies a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder Ecotec petrol engine. Chevrolet didn’t reveal the specs but from earlier leaks, we expect it will produce 177 hp (132 kW / 180 PS). The engine is exclusively mated to a CVT gearbox, but we don’t know if it will be offered in FWD or AWD forms.

Inside, we find a pair of 10.25-inch screens for the digital cockpit, with the infotainment display being tilted towards the driver. The Seeker runs on the new Xiaoxue OS, supporting wireless CarPlay and over-the-air updates. The seats are electrically operated, ventilated, and heated, offering lumbar support. They are upholstered in perforated soft leather with red stitching, while the same material can be found on the instrument panel. Other details include red accents on the dashboard, a wireless charging pad, the Tune Dynamic sound system, and a panoramic sunroof.

The Chevrolet Seeker will soon be available to order in China, where prices are expected to be announced in the next few weeks. Besides North America which is rumored to get the SUV in the near future, the Seeker could also be offered in Korea and other markets.
